  The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday passed a bipartisan bill intended to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller from being fired by President Trump. But Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he does not plan to bring the bill to the Senate floor because he does not think it is necessary.
