Here is a message from Senator Wyden on the consequences of this disastrous nomination:
"Later today, I’ll be speaking to the Senate as part of the effort by Democrats to hold the floor as long as possible before the confirmation vote on Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
My Republican colleagues may have caved to MAGA bullying and allowed him to advance through committee, but nothing changes the fact that Kennedy is the least-qualified, most dangerous nominee for Health and Human Services Secretary I’ve seen in all my years in Congress.
Americans are already feeling the impact of the Trump administration’s freezes on medical research and assaults on public health infrastructure. Kennedy will be nothing more than a lapdog for this very same dangerous agenda.
The public needs to be aware of the stakes and consequences of this moment — and Senate Republicans must be ready to own their disastrous votes if they will in fact support Kennedy.
To the final minute and final roll call, we are not backing down from this fight."
