In true Canberra style, on this day 40 years ago, the front page of The Canberra Times reported the launch of the 1981 "Life. Be in it" calendar at the Sunday in the Park activity day. While the "Life. Be in it" campaign was all about being active, even the cartoon character who starred in the campaign, Norm, would have "been in it" that day, with plenty on offer for those who shared his armchair-athlete disposition.
