WEALTHTECH

By now, pretty much everyone understands that a strong digital foundation is crucial for any wealth management firm looking to remain competitive.

But still, there will always be some who do it better than others. And the J.D. Power U.S. Wealth Management Digital Experience Study is back to tell us which large firms are doing it the best in the eyes of their clients.

Among a field of 15 competitors, J.P. Morgan Wealth Management, Charles Schwab and Edward Jones earned the highest customer satisfaction scores when graded on visual appeal, navigation, speed and information. The bottom of this year's rankings are occupied by Vanguard, Merrill and LPL Financial.

Amit Aggarwal, the senior director of digital solutions at J.D. Power, said a firm's digital presence is a key component of the overall wealth management customer experience. And as evidenced by a recent Advisor360° study that illustrates how the wrong tech may be costing advisors clients, the focus on delivering online offerings that excite is more important than ever.

"Firms that are delivering the best overall digital experience are recognizing that their apps and websites are an extension of the client relationship and can be leveraged to improve relationships with advisors, drive brand loyalty and differentiate from the competition," Aggarwal said.
