A lively Ocean Initiative

To start off the summer in a positive way, the Calvados chapter organized on July 11th a lively day: an Ocean Initiative combined with a Zero Waste shared picnic. And, to end the day well, a DJ came to set the atmosphere. The good mood was there, if we believe the numerous smiles on volunteer’s faces.

A swim for water quality

Volunteers from the Porto Chapter did not hesitate to take a real plunge to remind people of the importance of the revision of European legislation governing the quality of bathing water. As part of the expert group, Surfrider Europe makes 3 requests: extending the period of water surveillance outside the summer season, taking into account those who practice water activities but also integrating new monitoring parameters such as chemical pollution.

Surfrider Europe launched a survey which will help to strengthen its position on the revision of this directive, so that everyone can be heard.
