Ocean Pavilion : 4 days to bring the Ocean into G7 agenda

Bringing together the world's seven most powerful economic leaders, the guiding theme for this year’s international meeting will be "the fight against inequality". In this context, inequalities in the face of climate change must be addressed. Just ahead of the 2019 Summit, Surfrider Foundation Europe is seizing the opportunity to promote the protection of the ocean to the core of diplomatic negotiations.

The Interceltics of the Sea

At the beginning of August, the Morbihan province of Britanny welcomed the Interceltic Festival in Lorient. Surfrider Morbihan participated in “Interceltics of the sea", a festival side event gathering citizens, associations and elected officials to meet and share good practices in a festive and friendly. Between tastings, exchanges and animations Surfrider volunteers also rolled up their sleeves leave the festival grounds cleaner than they found them.

Second action for the new Surfrider Baden-Pfalz chapter

Last month, the second clean-up by Surfrider Foundation Europe's newest chapter in the Baden-Pfalz region was organized. More than 20 participants gathered for a day to clean the neck of Neckarufer and collect cigarrette butts, pieces of plastic and garbage of all kinds. In order to thank our volunteers for their efforts, Surfrider Baden-Pfalz organized a picnic lunch in a friendly atmosphere. This action, well received by the population, was relayed in the regional newspaper of Rhein Neckar.
