View email online | | | | | Oct 4, 2021 | | | | | | Good evening, In case you missed it, it was announced over the weekend that a huge new National Cyber Force campus will be based in Samlesbury, Lancashire. Though little detail is available right now, do not underestimate the scale and impact of this development across all of Lancashire. This state-of-the-art ‘James Bond’ esque facility will be the heart of Britain’s intelligence services bringing together staff from intelligence, cyber and security agency GCHQ, the MoD, the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL), under one single command for the first time. The purpose-built premises is expected to receive more than £5 billion of investment by 2030 - take that in. Lancashire will be at the heart of tackling terrorism, defending our country and the cutting edge of cyber-technology - tackling the online onslaught on our democratic society. And the county will benefit economically, with high-quality jobs and attracting investment. In other words it’s an absolute game-changer. Have a great evening, Nicola nicola.adam@jpimedia.co.uk | |
