Good evening everyone,

So will you be heading out for a pint or a g&t at a pub on Saturday?

If you are, you might think that it looks very different from the weekend in March just before we locked down.

For a start, most venues are asking you to book in advance, you may have to order a drink on your phone through an app and then your real ale will be brought to your table or you’ll be invited (by text) to head to the bar to collect it.

I may be getting old, but none of this sounds like much fun to me. So here’s a confession, I will not be heading out to the pub tomorrow or indeed any time soon. Yes, I would love a pint of Copper Dragon Golden Pippin - it never tastes the same from a bottle - but having waited three months, I can spare at least a few more weeks.

The Police Federation is saying they think tomorrow night might be ‘like New Year’s Eve.’ Let’s hope not. It’s one of the busiest nights of the year for paramedics, police and casualty departments...all of whom have plenty of other stuff to be getting on with at the moment.

So if you are going out, enjoy, but be safe.

Until next time, take care.

Gillian
