Peter Deutsch is an American lawyer and former politician who served in the United States House of Representatives from 1993 to 2005. Born in the Bronx, New York, in 1957, Deutsch graduated from Yale Law School in 1982 before moving to Broward County, Florida. He began his political career in the Florida House of Representatives, where he served five terms from 1982 to 1992. He is the founder of Ben Gamla Charter School in Hollywood, Florida, and continues to be involved in various political and educational initiatives.
Halie Soifer has led the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) since 2018, first as Executive Director and now as CEO. She previously served nearly two decades as a national security advisor to several members of Congress and as a senior policy advisor in the Obama administration. Most recently, she was National Security Advisor to then-Senator Kamala Harris. Halie also held roles advising U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power at the UN and working in the State Department. She holds degrees from Johns Hopkins (SAIS) and the University of Michigan Honors College.
