Happy Valentine’s Day! What? Not sure if you love or hate Valentine’s Day?! You don’t think love should be commercialised? You (gasp!) don’t like chocolate? Pink is your least favorite color? You’re alone and feeling sad as you see others celebrate? Ugh…I feel you. (For those of you who love Valentine’s Day, good for you! This email is for you too). No matter how you feel about the day, I’m using it as an excuse to show our community (that’s you!) a little love. Here’s a list of eight things I love about you: - You’re out here doing your best in the world today. That’s huge. The world isn’t easy lately and doing your best is hard. Thank you for doing your best. Keep up the good work!
- You’re actually reading this email. Sometimes I wonder if people ever take a moment to read the things I write. Thank you for doing that.
- You care. Caring is a big deal. Thank you for caring.
- Especially because you care about the issues Mozilla cares about, most importantly making the internet better for all of us.
- You understand that Mozilla is a non-profit organization, which means sometimes we have to ask for money to support our campaigns and grant programs.
- Sometimes you donate, if you are able.
- Even if you aren’t able to donate, you keep supporting us through things like sharing our *Privacy Not Included guide (for those looking for love, don't forget to check out our dating app reviews), contributing your voice to our Common Voice project, participating in MozFest, submitting your YouTube recommendations through our YouTube Regrets project, or even simply keeping yourself informed on important issues surrounding the internet like social media’s impact on elections.
- Finally, I love that you are you. Remember that today, whether you have someone to celebrate Valentine’s Day with or not. Love comes in many shapes and sizes and you are loved today, I promise.
So on this day made to celebrate love, go put some love out into the world. Whether that be with a donation to us here at Mozilla to help support our work making the internet better. Or by checking in on a friend or family member who might be feeling a little lonely today. Please, go share some love! Happy Valentine’s Day! Jen Caltrider *Privacy Not Included |
