Congratulations to Alicia Conerly, a science teacher from Magnolia, Mississippi, who won the grand prize in the 2016 Shell Science Lab Challenge. Conerly and her team will receive a science lab makeover valued at $20,000! Four national finalists were also named and will receive a lab makeover package valued at $8,500. Mark your calendars for June 1 when you can begin applying for 2016–2017 Shell Science Lab Challenge.

The National Academy of Engineering is now accepting video submissions until May 31 for the third annual Engineering for You Video Contest (E4U3) on Mega Engineering. NAE will accept one- to two-minute videos that introduce a particular mega-engineering project, highlight its importance/contribution to people and society, and suggest contributions to its development.
