| Sherri Starr is an award winning Cape Cod artist and is a juried artist member of Cape Cod Art Center and multiple art centers on the Cape and SE Massachusetts. She began painting after retiring from her career in the regional shopping center real estate industry. Her love of color is prominently displayed in her abstracted cities and landscapes.
Sherri has shown and sold her work at the Cape Cod Art Center, Cotuit Center for the Arts, Duxbury Art Association, Falmouth Art Center, Creative Center for the Arts, Plymouth Center for the Arts, the Cotuit Historical Society, Cahoon Museum of Art, www.Saatchiart.com and at www.sherristarr.com.
Before becoming a full time artist, Sherri worked in the regional shopping center field. Originally from Missouri, she has lived in California, Florida, Anguilla, and now Cape Cod. Her art reflects the color influences of warm and tropical climates.

Artist Statement I interpret what I view in a contemporary style. Color and light are important fundaments in my work as they evoke the mood and style of the subject matter. My goal is to draw the viewer into the painting by creating a story or facet of mystery through these elements. Often my work elicits a "Where am I" query that begs for interpretation and exploration through the viewer's experiences.
I am a colorist and am not bound by the rules of what is seen. Color is used to challenge the viewer to think beyond what is real, what is not and what could be.
