IAE Completes V2500 Test On 100% SAF

International Aero Engines (IAE) has completed a test run on the V2500 engine using 100% sustainable aviation fuel.

Korean Air Building Asia’s Largest Engine MRO Facility

Korean Air has started construction of a new aircraft engine maintenance cluster in Unbuk, near Incheon International Airport. When completed in 2027, it will be billed as Asia’ s largest engine facility, that will more than triple KAL’s annual MRO engine capacity to 360 from 100 powerplants.

Commercial Engine Retirements, 2024-33 - North America

Data extracted from the 2024 Aviation Week Commercial Fleet & MRO Forecast shows that over 8,400 engines will retire between 2024 and 2033 in North America. The CFM56 alone will account for almost 2,500 units, or 29% of all traditional retirements. Overall projections top out at over 1,200 units in 2028. Meanwhile, new deliveries of the Leap in the region will come to more than 5,600 units during the same period.
