DAVE CHAPPELLE HOSTS BENEFIT TO HONOR DAYTON SHOOTING VICTIMS: Comedian Dave Chappelle hosted a benefit concert in Dayton, Ohio, on Sunday to honor victims of a mass shooting that took place August 4. Stevie Wonder and Chance the Rapper headlined the “Gem City Shine” event, which took place in the city’s Oregon District where the shooting occurred. Associated Press: “The event was designed to raise both spirits as well as money for the victims and survivors of the shooting. … Mayor Nan Whaley says no taxpayer money was used for the benefit. The mayor and the chamber of commerce raised funds for security and Chappelle donated the stage and secured talent, she said.” 2. TRUMP WANTS TO HOST NEXT G7 SUMMIT AT MIAMI RESORT: President Donald Trump said he wants to host the G7 summit in 2020 at the Trump National Doral Miami Golf Resort. At the annual G7 in Biarritz, France, on Monday, Trump told German Chancellor Angela Merkel that his property is a short drive from Miami’s international airport and could handle the event, which is slated to take place in the U.S. next year. CNN: “Trump is sure to receive criticism if he goes through with the idea and will face questions about whether he stands to profit financially from the large summit. Trump has received such criticism in the past for hosting foreign leaders, including China's President Xi Jinping, at his Mar-a-Lago Golf Club in Florida.” 3. MTV TO PRESENT NEW JERSEY TRIBUTE AT V.M.A.S: MTV will present a star-studded tribute to New Jersey at the Video Music Awards, which take place tonight at the Prudential Center in Newark. New Jersey natives Queen Latifah, Naughty by Nature, Redman, Fetty Wap, and Wyclef Jean are set to perform. The Hollywood Reporter: “They join a lineup of previously announced performers that includes Taylor Swift, who will open the show.
