Happy Friday! We have a lot of fun segments for curious listeners lined up for today! Here's a quick look at what you'll hear/see:
Tune in at 10 a.m. for the annual weather quiz with meteorologist Mark Seeley -- who will be testing folks at the State Fair on their climate knowledge. You can take the quiz online here!
At 11 a.m., MPR News host Angela Davis will sit down with 1A host Joshua Johnson for a conversation on what it's like to host a daily conversation with America.
Before the hour is over, Angela will also talk with R&B icons “Tony! Toni! Tone!”

Sign language interpreters open State Fair concerts to all

American Sign Language interpreters are some of the important but mostly unsung folks working at the fair. For those who need them, they’re vital to the experience — even at the fair’s loud, high-energy concerts. “It’s really more about the deaf community and the deaf community’s access to have equality with all the hearing people at the State Fair,” one interpreter said. “So, they can enjoy the music, visually, the same way as the hearing people enjoy it, auditorially.”
Cideries, breweries tap into Duluth’s expanding music scene

In the past six years, there has been a boom of breweries and cideries opening up in the city. Seven new taprooms have sprung up in that time, and as the numbers have grown, so has the local music scene.
