Simone Young conducts The Ring at the Bayreuth Festival: Das Rheingold

This year, Simone Young made history as the first Australian and the first woman to conduct Wagner's full Ring Cycle at the Bayreuth Festival.

She said that to be the first Australian to do this was an honour.

"Until last year I thought it would never happen, but then it did and it was wonderful," she shared.

Join Nina Korbe at the opera this Saturday night as Young conducts Das Rheingold, the first opera in the Ring Cycle, at Bayreuth Festival 2024.
