A Message From the Editor

Good Morning. Private equity funds are showing an increased interest in Japanese assets. Simpson Thacher and Anderson Mori are advising on one of the latest deals, in which Blackstone has made a $1.7 billion offer for Japanese digital comic distributor Infocom. We're also looking at the recent rise in private equity deals in Italy. And Apple has found itself in the unenviable position of being the first company charged under the EU's new antitrust law.
