Six men and two women die in hospital after testing positive for Covid-19

The latest statistics have revealed that Northern Ireland has recorded its highest number of weekly coronavirus related deaths in care homes since May.
In figures published by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA), it was revealed that ten people died in care homes in the Province between October 24 and 30.
NISRA also reported 66 new virus-related deaths relating to coronavirus between those dates.
The Department of Health’s latest statistics, which were published this afternoon, show that another eight people, six men and two women, have died after having Covid-19.
The latest death toll takes the department’s tally of Covid-related deaths here to 760. Another 560 new coronavirus cases were recorded by the Department of Health.
DUP MP Gregory Campbell has issued a statement after a picture emerged of him wearing a face mask that did not cover his mouth and nose.
The picture was apparently taken at Heathrow Airport in London on Thursday, and it was leaked to BBC Radio Ulster’s The Stephen Nolan Show.
In his statement, Mr Campbell said people should not let their “mask slip” as he had done, and urged them to “keep their discipline” during the pandemic.
