The shooting deaths of two men Tuesday in Baton Rouge, including a rapper who went by Teflon Webbie and wetheblock, led to calls on social media for violence among rival rap groups to stop. Rappers "are getting killed, before they get a chance to get out," the narrator of one YouTube video said.

The development includes outdoor areas, community rooms, a gym and a wellness center for health-care providers. The four-story Cypress Pinchback, 501 Gardere Lane, opened its doors this month to people 62 and older. Officials said the complex's construction also should aid in attracting businesses and developers to the area. |
