Fraud arrest: Slidell political consultant Joseph Harold West Jr. was arrested Friday and is being held without bail on federal charges that he defrauded a judicial campaign of thousands of dollars, and possibly other local candidates as well. Gordon Russell has details from the case, which involves burner phones, a handful of aliases and $155,000 in cash investigators found in a storage locker.
Nyx leader speaks out: Before and immediately after Nyx was cut from the city's Carnival lineup, its controversial captain, Julie Lea, refused to comment publicly on the matter. But Lea recently sat down for an interview with WDSU. Doug MacCash has a rundown of the conversation here.
THC regulations: Good news, pot lovers. State lawmakers approved new regulations to the booming hemp-derived THC industry Monday, and while things are about to get a little less loose, the changes are a far cry from the all out ban that failed last week. Here's a look at the new rules.
