Mark will join the panel discussion Powering Through the AV Trough of Disillusionment. “Autonomous technology is coming but not as soon as most people expected,” Mark says. “But it’s imperative that companies enter the market now as a car-sharing provider to learn the ins and outs of maintaining a fleet of shared vehicles and to build a profitable business using today’s technology.”
In 2017 Ridecell bought AV shuttle developer Auro Robotics to conduct autonomous testing on private properties such as theme and business parks, resorts and retirement communities. Prior to the acquisition, Auro piloted its battery-powered Level 4 shuttles at several universities in the U.S. and deployed vehicles on the Santa Clara University campus that are still in daily operation.
“When autonomous vehicles become shared and electric, the way we consume transportation will be forever changed,” adds Mark.
