Good evening,

Good evening,

It’s hard to find a deal in the bricks and mortar retail sector –unless you look at the young adult fashion category.

Three household names – Culture Kings, Glue Store and Universal Store – have been snapped up or floated in the past six months, which has sparked hopes of a fourth deal.

Street Talk can reveal the Smorgon family members that own fashion mainstay General Pants Co have called in the bankers and have started pitching the business to potential suitors.

Monash Advisory, the same firm that oversaw Greenlit Brands’ extraction from Steinhoff Asia Pacific, has landed the mandate and is drumming up rival retailers and private equity shops to take a look.

Elsewhere, we have a peek at the two latest float contenders, Best & Less Group and Silicon Valley’s Inflection.com, and reveal who’s pitching Australian football (soccer) to potential backers.

Happy reading,
Sarah Thompson, Anthony Macdonald and Tim Boyd
