Ace Hotel renamed: The Ace Hotel has been a hotspot since it opened in 2016. Now, the downtown hotel in the 600 block of Carondelet Street is getting a new name under new ownership. Justin Mitchell reports on the brand switch for the hotel, its coffee shop and the Josephine Estelle restaurant.
Alberto arrives: We've got our first named storm in the Gulf of Mexico. Tropical Storm Alberto has formed in the Bay of Campeche off the eastern coast of Mexico and is churning things up across the Gulf. Here's where NHC forecasters say Alberto is headed. Another chase: There was another police chase in New Orleans. Levee District police pursued a white Hyundai Sonata and a red sedan after officers responded to suspicious activity on Lakeshore Drive in the early morning hours Wednesday. Police fired on the vehicles after their cruiser was rammed. The chase follows several recent encounters between Troop Nola and people fleeing traffic stops, raising anew the debate over local chase policies.
