Hello, John!
What I'm about to tell you might seem shocking, so brace yourself:
I've never once prayed to St. Anthony of Padua to help me find a lost item.
(See, in my family, when anything goes missing, we pray my grandmother's simple prayer: "Jesus was lost and found again." And if it doesn't turn up quickly, we call up Nana and ask her to pray it herself. That usually causes the missing jewelry or keys to resurface.)
That means that I came to Franciscan Media without any knowledge of the thing St. Anthony is apparently best known for. But in my time here, I've learned that he's a force to be reckoned with in the Franciscan world: a teacher, theologian, and devoutly holy friar who lived what he preached.
