Our Head of Hardware Engineering, Ashwin Lalendran, recently shared his thoughts on why a modular approach to hardware design creates more reliable hardware with faster and more iterative production cycles. We're proponents of this approach here at Sofar, and are utilizing it to ship record breaking numbers of Spotters each month!

A big thank you to the Australian Government and CSIRO for their recent work in deploying Spotter buoys in the Southern Ocean. Ben Arthur of CSIRO shared the video above of the team, which includes Elizabeth Shadwick, Pete Jansen, Phil de Boer, and two crew members from the R/V Investigator.
