| Canal+ Leads The Revolution FIRST LARGE SCALE TV PRODUCTION FACILITY TO IMPLEMENT FULL AUDIO AND VIDEO OVER IP WORKFLOW |
---|
“ | This facility is proof that a large-scale AoIP network infrastructure can serve a sophisticated round-the-clock broadcast operation. It’s made us more flexible - ready for anything. |
| | SSL recently installed a complete IP-based production environment at Canal Factory, a production facility for daily live programming and live music events from French premium subscription channel Canal+ and free-to-air channel C8.
The facilities include two main audio control rooms, three production stages, and a music pre-mix studio. All audio I/O is connected to and routed around the facility’s IP network using the Dante networked AoIP protocol.
The Canal Factory also hosts a 100% network-based video system that includes multiviewers, processing, and edge routing technology, using SMPTE 2022. | | | | |

| New for System T! TEMPEST CONTROL RACK (TCR) |
---|
| | Aimed at automated production, audio-follow-video applications, and remote flypack requirements, the System T Tempest Control Rack can be combined with a networked Tempest Audio Engine plus any SSL Network I/O or 3rd party Dante or AES67 products to build large, scalable AoIP infrastructures.
TCR itself is a 3RU PC enclosure with an optional retractable 15.6” touchscreen. TCR runs the complete System T control software and so acts as a stand-alone control interface for a System T installation. The custom screen mounting system enables the screen to be used at a wide range of angles, allowing the unit to be mounted in a traditional 19” rack or in angled studio furniture. | | | | |

| | Every System T control surface can maintain its own logical, searchable device name database for all I/O on the Network. | | You can view the physical devices connected to the network and make operator friendly names for every input and output, while still taking advantage of Dante's automatic discovery mechanisms.
You can also 'tag' all logical devices on the network with searchable and selectable textual tags. Every input or output can have multiple tags, enabling you to search, group, and manage I/O counts of thousands or tens of thousands with ease. Simply create your tag cloud in the System T I/O Management page, then use the tag search and filter function in any console routing screen. | | | |
| 24/7 Broadcasting SYSTEM T TAKES ON CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AT DR |
---|
| | Danish broadcaster, DR, has installed SSL System T into its main news studios, together with an SSL Network I/O-based redundant Dante infrastructure. Both systems are running 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days per year and are a core part of DR's breaking news transmissions as well as regular broadcasts on the DR1 and DR2 TV channels, and 5.1 sports broadcasting.
The installation includes 48-fader main Control Room control surfaces, plus T-SOLSA (PC-based control) and Remote Fader Panels in the Production Control Rooms, plus extensive integration with the Studio's Riedel intercomm system, and Viz Mosart production automation control. | | | | |

| SSL Future-Proofs IP BROADCAST TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT BOOST |
---|
| | Solid State Logic has moved to strengthen the future-proofing of its true networked AoIP broadcast infrastructure and the System T production environment with membership of AIMS - the Alliance for IP Media Solutions, expansion of its R&D team, and a commitment to support new IP-based standards as they are adopted, to support its customers’ workflows.
Tom Knowles, SSL Product Manager for Broadcast Products: "…System T's audio I/O and routing is based around Dante - a complete AoIP networking solution that has easily integrated AES67
compatibility. The standard IT infrastructure and nature of System T’s software platform means that SSL can adapt to and incorporate whatever the future brings, as it happens." | | | | |

| Fast Facts |
---|
| - A single SSL T80 Tempest Audio Engine loaded with Dante HC cards can handle over 3000 inputs and 3000 outputs, and its architecture supports 800 fully processed audio paths.
- System T path processing can be configured in any order using a simple drag and drop interface. Two dynamics sections can be activated in each path to facilitate cascaded Compressor/Limiter configurations.
- The System T FX Rack includes a comprehensive set of SSL’s acclaimed studio quality signal processors with their own dedicated DSP pool. Effects are accessible via the Path inserts, or via the console routing using the Aux and Track buses.
