The perfume of rain on African soil. The scent of woodfires drifting across the highveld on winter evenings.

Ozzy Nel is appointed to the board of
SA Harvest
Ozzy Nel is COO and newly appointed board member of SA Harvest, the food rescue and hunger relief organisation that has rescued over 10,6 million tonnes of food from going to waste and delivered it to more than 200 beneficiaries across South Africa, resulting in the delivery of over 35,3 million meals.
Nel believes his position at SA Harvest brings him full circle in his life. “At 16 my brother and I got involved with communities in Ivory Park and the surrounding areas – we did development work, played soccer, and taught martial arts, while my parents taught reading and writing."...[more]
Rev Erlo Stegen, celebrating 70 years in ministry
On 11 December 2022, the KwaSizabantu Mission in Kranskop, KwaZulu-Natal celebrated Rev Erlo Stegen’s 70th year in ministry.
More than 10 000 people attended the thanksgiving service in honour of Rev Stegen and the positive impact he made on the lives of so many people.

From garage to factory: Family trailer business gets R2m cash injection, sets sights on Africa
Lucas Maluleke started Trailored, a small custom trailer company, in a Soweto garage in 2003. At the time, the business could build one new trailer every few three to four months – but has since expanded capacity to produce more than that each day.
The business has also been buoyed by a R2.3 million cash injection through equity crowdfunding platform GoGetta, which they hope will help it become the largest trailer manufacturer on the continent.
Hlanganiso, Maluleke’s son, says he “grew up listening to the sound of the grinder in the backyard”. His father eventually moved the business out of the family garage to a local bus stop and later to properties close to main roads to better advertise his products...[more]
Running from 1-5 March 2023, the International Public Art Festival (IPAF) is back for its 7th edition, adding even more creativity and colour to the streets of Cape Town. IPAF, Africa’s largest Public Art Festival, hosted by Baz-Art, showcases innovative local and international creative talent, who create one-of-a-kind large-scale outdoor public artworks.
This free-to-public festival will happen in and around The Company’s Garden, in Cape Town City Centre – one of the oldest gardens in South Africa.

SAME celebrates social cohesion on South African soil this December
The South Africa/America Music Exchange concert (SAME) initiative seeks to amplify the spirit of unity and collaboration, through music.
