Commerce awards $3.2M to 8 S.C. organizations

‘Outer Banks’ to resume filming Aug. 31

Nonresidential construction sees spending slump in July

An analysis of federal data found a decrease of 1.2% nationwide from June to July. While residential spending increased, commercial construction dropped by 3.2%. Among S.C. metro areas, Columbia gained 200 jobs in a 12-month period.

S.C. reaches $600M settlement with Department of Energy

The federal government will pay the state the money and remove tons of weapons-grade plutonium from the Savannah River Site under terms of a settlement announced Aug. 31.
