Our July meeting was fantastic despite the extended restrictions, with more than 40 writers attending including some new faces.
Roxanne Paynter was a wonderful replacement as advertised speaker, Peter Watt, was unable to cross the border due to COVID restrictions. Her story of how she came to writing was inspiring and her publishing story was a cautionary tale in parts. Read more here...

| Paula Duggan from Sisters in Crime joined us to let us know about the Scarlett Stiletto Short Story Competition. Sisters in Crime’s 28th Scarlet Stiletto Awards for best short crime and mystery stories is offering record $11,910 in prizes this year. Entries close on 31 August – and it’s worth firing up the laptop (or sharpening the pencil). See their website for more details. |
