July 19, 2021  In 1941, a concrete wall appeared in residents' backyards in Detroit to divide a Black neighborhood from a new whites-only development. For decades, the question of who built the wall was a mystery.
Now, NBC News and BridgeDetroit have uncovered the builder's identity and learned that he was part of one of the city's most prominent families.
