ICDA Bürgenstock returns to Bürgenstock
Sign up to the world-renowned Bürgenstock event for commodities and derivatives markets online at www.burgenstock.org and join major industry players and senior regulators as they discuss the future of markets on the 11th, 12th and 13th of September in Lucerne, Switzerland. As part of the John Lothian News readership you can benefit from a 15% reduced rate by inputting the code JNL15 when you register.
Now in its 38th year, the annual Bürgenstock meeting is regaining its former lustre by returning to the beautiful surroundings of Lucerne and the Bürgenstock resort itself. One of the longest running and most respected events in the commodities and derivatives calendar, Bürgenstock continues to attract major industry figures, and this year is no different, with the keynote at the gala dinner being given by the head of the CFTC, Commissioner Chris Giancarlo.
Central to the Bürgenstock event is the International Regulators' Meeting, which has benefitted from a surge of interest this year, with senior representation from over 30 different regulatory authorities from all around the globe and sponsorship from U.S. law firm Covington. Unlike other meetings of this nature the Bürgenstock IRM is run entirely by a neutral body in the form of the International Commodities and Derivatives Association.
Attendees to the main Bürgenstock conference will have the unique opportunity to hear from and interact with senior regulators from all the major regulatory bodies. Such an opportunity could hardly be more timely, with the ever-shifting compliance requirements of the looming MIFid II regulations causing consternation across the board, along with the move towards a lightening of the regulatory burden from the US administration and the endless uncertainty and fears of regulatory arbitrage and stalemate caused by Brexit - to name but a few of the unknowns that are threatening today's markets.
The conference is open to anyone working within the commodities and derivatives industry who is interested in new products, new platforms and who wishes to have their say or simply to understand better the implications of the ongoing regulatory changes.
Speakers include CEOs and leading industry figures from major exchanges, banks, CCPs and trading houses. For a full list and agenda see www.burgenstock.org for more details.
