Join the Asian Art Museum for a peek behind the screens.
Brand-new virtual group tours from curators showcase favorite objects, uncover hidden histories, and provide a taste of all the museum offers, from the oldest artworks in San Francisco to the city’s best new murals.
On Saturday afternoons, grab your preferred device, curl up on the couch, and embark on an illuminating tour through different museum galleries. With Zoom as your portal and a specialist to guide you, you’ll have close-up encounters with works from the Asian Art Museum’s world-famous collection, revisit recent exhibitions, and preview new contemporary installations. Afterward, take part in a live, friendly conversation with one of their curators — all from the safety and comfort of home.
Focusing on a single subject at a time, each 20-minute tour is led by an expert who shares insights into millennia of craft and creativity and reveals the stories behind the art.
Join Dr. Jay Xu, Asian Art Museum Director and CEO, for this exclusive tour and learn more about the museum’s celebrated collection of aristocratic bronzes, which recorded historical events and battles, held offerings for ancestors, and were a source of wealth and status for centuries.
Bronze: China’s Power Metal will take place on Saturday, February 13, at 4pm PST. Buy a ticket to reserve your spot (tours are free for museum members).
Looking for a thoughtful Valentine’s Day gift? Surprise your loved one and reserve a package of six or 11 tours at a discounted price. The 6-Tour Package is $25 and the 11-Tour Package is $40. Tickets for a single tour are $5.
