Crisis on Campus: Antisemitism, Belonging, and the Unraveling of a Historic Relationship Join the Center for Jewish History on Sunday, May 18 for The End of an Era? Jews and Elite Universities, a daylong symposium examining the historic and contemporary relationship between Jews and elite American universities. Prompted by a disturbing rise in antisemitic incidents on campuses including Harvard, Columbia, and others, the symposium will bring together leading scholars, journalists, and public intellectuals to consider whether the longstanding relationship between American Jews and higher education is fraying—and what can be done about it. Speakers include Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, Bill Ackman, Leon Wieseltier, Paul Berman, Rebecca Kobrin, Rabbi David Wolpe, Steven Pinker, Nicholas Lemann, Rachel Gordan, Eli Lake, Jeff Herf, Susie Linfield, James Kirchick, Rabbi Jason Rubenstein, Pamela Nadell, Martin Peretz, and Gavriel Rosenfeld. Please note that sessions 1-3 and session 4 are ticketed separately. Zoom streaming option available. |
