That’s the lesson that Cheryl Pitchford—a mother, grandmother and retired primary school teacher from Markham, Ont.—wants to share after sponsoring children through World Vision for 45 years. “Every girl has the potential to fulfill her dreams and make something of her life,” says Pitchford. “I want my family and others to know that it is the lives you touch and help that really matter.”
