The post-pandemic future of public washrooms
If COVID-19 has made you wary of using public washrooms, you’re not alone. A survey conducted by Dyson in 2020 found that about three-quarters of Canadians had safety concerns about trips to the restroom, and more than half planned to use them less frequently1 . With businesses re-welcoming more customers and enabling more employees to return to the office, the future of public washrooms needs to address higher demand for cleanliness. Experts predict new designs spurred by COVID-19 and greater implementation of hygienic technology—like the Dyson Airblade™ touch-free hand dryer—will improve safety and hygiene, but there’s still work to be done.
