Back due to popular demand, announcing Halls’ Sporting and Wildlife Auction 2024!

On the 7th November Halls Fine Art team will be bringing a weird and wonderful catalogue of curiosities from British countryside pursuits to the African Safari to auction. The paintings department are offering a large collection of wildlife and ornithological paintings by artist Adrian Rigby from a large gallery collection dispersal as well as equestrian and racing pictures and a pleasing array of sporting and dog paintings which always prove popular. Our specialist Abigail Molenaar particularly favours a large painting of lot 12-  Terriers around a Rabbit Hole by J Langlois (c.1855-1904) and a charming copy of Sir Edwin Landseer’s portrait of his bloodhound Odin by William Mitchell of Maryport (c.1806-1900) which is lot 8 in the sale.

Halls Fine Art are also delighted to have consigned a diverse collection of taxidermy – from the humble garden blackbird to the more exotic pelican, or the more traditional Victorian era dome arrangements. If you fancy picking up a new hobby, we even have taxidermy moulds going under the hammer!

With an intriguing range of items in the catalogue from Coalport jugs, silver warthog sculptures, antique fishing rods to a stuffed border collie or a camel skeleton ready to puzzle together; this is a sale like no other!
