As the residents of one small Minnesota town pick up the pieces of homes and lives shattered by Monday’s storms, residents of another town who are walking that path have a hopeful message.
“Keeping spirits up and looking to the future, I think is just what sustains you day to day,” said Mary Huntley, mayor of Taopi, a community of fewer than 100 people located in Mower County near the Iowa border.

Barber — who played football at Wayzata High School before going to the U — was found unresponsive inside his apartment in Frisco, Texas, according to NBC 5 TV in Dallas. The station reports that police responded to a call for a wellness check at an apartment owned by Barber. Authorities did not provide any other details or say how the 38-year-old died.

Tulsa police: 3 killed in shooting at medical building. Three people were killed Wednesday in a shooting at a Tulsa medical building on a hospital campus, a police captain said. Capt. Richard Meulenberg confirmed the number of dead. Meulenberg said the shooter also was dead. It was unclear how the shooter died.
