Almost every festival in New Orleans celebrates food, with lines of local vendors dishing up everything from po-boys to gourmet fare. This year, Greek Fest, New Orleans Wine and Food Experience, Hogs for the Cause and others are going virtual, switching to drive-through or postponing. Ian McNulty comes through with an update on spring food festivals. Chef Alon Shaya has revealed plans for an upscale, contemporary restaurant in the luxury Four Seasons development in New Orleans. Called Miss River, it should open mid-year with some unique features. (Wait, what's a food stage?) In other news, Café Reconcile has hired a new chef aligned with its mission of education and empowerment. Matassa's Market in the French Quarter reopened with a new look, and Parlay's in Lakeview is back in business eight months after a fire, with an even looooonger bar. Finally, a Metairie restaurant ran into trouble this week when a Black couple complained of racial profiling, and other accusations popped up. Sweet, plump Louisiana strawberries are here.
