Spring Into Science |

Kentucky Science Center's Spring Into Science activities are in full bloom! Enjoy NEW exhibit décor and design flowers, leaves, petals, and animals to include in a collaborative art project on display all season. Loose Parts Playground Saturday, April 17, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. What you can build is only limited by your imagination. At Loose Parts Playground, use recycled materials to create a fort, a planter…or anything else you can dream up. KSC members and guests can explore this outdoor learning lab in the parking lot. Event is free with admission to the Science Center. MakerPlace Workshop Found Object Birdhouse Saturday, April 17 and Saturday, April 24 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Reduce waste and upcycle some of our found objects as you create something that is just as much a work of art as it is a home for nature. MakerPlace Workshops are designed for children ages 8 and older. |

At Kentucky Science Center’s Schools Out Summer Camp, your child will develop skills and make friendships that will last a lifetime. Our camp encourages all campers to play, tinker, and investigate the world around them with plenty of time to explore their favorite science center. |

Community Access Membership |
|
|

Kentucky Science Center is now offering a FREE Family Membership for all families receiving SNAP/WIC benefits. Click here to apply for the Community Access Membership (you will need to upload a photo of your SNAP/WIC card to complete the application process). Please allow up to 5 business days from time of online application for your membership to be activated. Once your membership is activated, you will receive an email with your membership number and instructions for setting up your online account and making advance reservations. Community Access Membership can also be activated in person at the Science Center, which will allow you to use your membership immediately. NASA invites the public to take part in virtual activities and events ahead of the agency's SpaceX Crew-2 mission, planned for April 22. Members of the public can attend the launch virtually, receiving mission updates and opportunities normally reserved for on-site guests. A new report highlights the racial, ethnic, and gender gaps in representation among STEM students and professionals. Efforts to promote equity and inclusion in science, technology, engineering, and math have a long way to go. The 'Monkeydactyl', a newly discovered pterosaur from the Jurassic Period may be the oldest known creature with opposable thumbs. The winged reptile's dexterity may have helped it climb trees during the age of dinosaurs. Scientists have made a major discovery in Ganzhou City in China’s southern Jiangxi Province: they’ve found the remains of a dinosaur sitting on its nest of fossilized eggs. This is the first time researchers have found a non-avian dinosaur sitting on a nest of eggs which have been fossilized so they still contain the babies inside! |
