Beeliar Community Voice "Weekend Waste Warriors"
Each week the Beeliar Community Voice resident group hosts a fun social meet-up to collect rubbish through the streets, parks and bushland.
"We meet on Sunday at 12pm and go for 30 minutes, which allows people to come in between their weekend activities. Aside from picking up rubbish, it's a nice way to meet a few people in the neighbourhood, get some light exercise, and explore the Beeliar parks, and bushland. You can really get lost in there, it's amazing what beautiful nature we have in our suburb."

Everyone is welcome to get involved. The group provides bags, gloves, rubbish grabbers, high vis vests, and fruit. |

Let's Talk: Everything Multicultural
Interested in learning something new? Want to meet people in your area and share ideas? Get along to the next Let's Talk event to delve into the topic of "Everything Multicultural" over coffee. This month's speaker is City of Cockburn Cultural Diversity Officer who will be working to address gaps in Cockburn's CaLD community and establishing a new CaLD Reference Group for the City.
Tuesday 13 September, 11am-12pm at The Quarie in Hammond Park.

Are you in a not-for-profit group and seeking funding? This might be for an event, minor-capital works, workshop, promotion, incorporation, equipment, or activities. Cockburn Community grants are open until the 30 September. Find out if your group and project is eligible.

Step into volunteering
Interested in volunteering, or want to be energised and inspired? The Step into Volunteering sessions hosted by Volunteer Resource Centre staff, will give you the confidence and knowledge to find a great volunteer role for you!
Wednesday 21 September, 1pm at Spearwood Library
These workshops will give you information on: - The benefits of volunteering
- The volunteering opportunities available
- Identifying the skills that you have to contribute to volunteering
- Rights and responsibilities of volunteers

Do you own a dog or cat and have moved house recently?
Do you own a dog or cat? Have you moved houses, or got a new mobile number or email address? Let our rangers know by 27 September so we can send you your pet re-registration form. All dogs over three months old and cats over six months must by law be registered with the City of Cockburn and microchipped by 31 October. Cats must also by law be sterilized.
Registering and microchipping your dog and cat allows our rangers a better chance of re-uniting them with you if they are lost. Knowing dog and cat numbers also allows the City to provide the right type and level of services and facilities for your pet.

Boredom buster to keep kids occupied
Every school holidays, the City of Cockburn hosts a range of fun and educational events and workshops for young people aged from two to 17. The activities are free or heavily subsidised and available to all Cockburn residents. There's a range of things to do spanning a variety of interests, from beach-combing workshops and Rottnest Island day trips to bat tours or a visit to Adventure World! |
