| Instructor Spotlight: Michael Thee and Mary Wohlgemuth | Michael Thee and Mary Wohlgemuth are partners in Michael Thee Studio. They have been creating and showing jewelry and teaching metalwork classes together in Milwaukee since 2013. "We love Milwaukee, and we have a lot of fun connecting with new students every June and seeing old friends at the Show," Mary says. As a result of teaching at the Show and getting student feedback, Michael and Mary have developed a few "made in Milwaukee" tools for jewelry makers. The studio's jewelry is typically fabricated of cast sterling silver, and it often showcases a variety of gemstones. Both partners do lapidary (stone cutting and shaping), and so a large (fun) part of their work is checking out gem and mineral shows for unusual slabs and cabochons. If you enjoy learning best practices to help you make anything you can envision and want to take your fabrication and finishing to the next level, you'll get a lot out of classes with Michael and Mary. They look forward to meeting you! |
