The hit South Korean Netflix series Squid Game will be back for a second season.
 

In October, the dystopian drama became the streaming service's most popular series launch ever, drawing 111 million fans.
 

In the nine-episode survival drama, hundreds of cash-strapped people compete in a series of children's games to win the final reward of 45.6 billion won (R572 million).


At an event celebrating the show in Los Angeles, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk announced that the show will be back for a second season but that it's too early to say when it will happen.
 

Speaking to the Associated Press, he said: "There's been so much pressure, so much demand, and so much love for a second season."
