Butterflies are some of the most magnificent and diverse little creatures on earth, with over 750 species in the US alone.
Now that summer is around the corner, our DIY Butterfly Feeder project offers the perfect opportunity for you and your student to learn all about these gorgeous garden visitors.
Your young naturalist will learn how to build two kinds of butterfly feeders using different sets of simple household materials:
The jar method (with sugar water)
The plate method (with overripe fruit)
Don’t forget to snap photos of your butterfly feeders (and any beautiful butterflies you glimpse) and share them with us on Instagram @homesciencetools – we'd love to feature your student’s discoveries!
