"Again, you see, faith is a working virtue. It is something that must not only go with me; it is something that must be a part of me."
- Mother Angelica
ST. KATERI TEKAKWITHA This statue of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha also known as the Lily of the Mohawks, depicts a very beautiful, postmortem image of the Saint. When St. Kateri died on April 17, 1680, witnesses said that her emaciated face changed color and became like that of a healthy child. The lines of suffering, even the smallpox scars that she bore from the time she was four, suddenly disappeared and the touch of a smile came upon her lips shortly after her death. Canonized in 2012 by Pope Benedict XVI, we celebrate her feast day on July 14th. Made of resin, and hand-painted in soft earth tones, this statue measures 8"H.
