Good evening,

Good evening,

Street Talk’s gone digging in the ever-reliable resources sector – and come back with a couple of deals scoops.

The first one is at Chalice Mining, where we have news that Standard Chartered has been called into the tent, to help with what’s expected to be a sell down at its much talked about Gonneville deposit.

The other is at Rex Minerals, where we have Macquarie’s pitch to potential investors and offtake partners, made in the past few days.

Elsewhere, we have a new deal coming together for Anchorage Capital Partners and a raising/M&A deal at SRG Global.

In deals on Thursday, there will be plenty of attention on Origin Energy and Newcrest Mining as they front the market with their half-year results.

We’re expecting neither to have huge news for investors – it feels like Origin’s talks with Brookfield/EIG Partners are ongoing, while Newcrest Mining’s still thinking about Newmont Corporation.

Happy reading,

Anthony Macdonald, Sarah Thompson and Kanika Sood
