Times Past

A fire caused by a radiator, left near a chest of drawers, made news on the front page of The Canberra Times, on this day 56 years ago. Flames roared and smoke belched out of a room at Reid Hostel as residents in adjoining rooms slept blissfully unaware of the blaze.
