Tuesday we asked: Massachusetts voters approved a new law legalizing recreational marijuana in November, but communities across the state are pumping the brakes, as nearly a dozen Central Massachusetts communities have passed a moratorium or ban on recreational marijuana facilities.
Do you want retail pot stores in your town?
  • It appears that most of towns surrounding Worcester are opting out of having pot retail stores in their towns. Worcester, the second largest city in New England, with its optimistic downtown growth would do well in accepting the measure. The projected taxes for both the city and state are a plus. The city would have the ability to limit the number and locations the stores to say a quarter or half mile radius of city hall.
  • If marijuana truly has recreational capabilities, why has it failed in every state that attempted to make it work? This is another "social program."
  • It appears that most of towns surrounding Worcester are opting out of having pot retail Stores in their towns. Worcester (2nd largest city in New England) with it's optimistic down town growth would do well in accepting the measure. The projected taxes both City and States are a plus. The City would have the ability to limit the number and locations the stores to say "1/4-1/2 mile Radius of City hall"
