State expected to add 30,000 jobs over next 12 months

Good morning and welcome back to another edition of Acadiana Business Today. Let's get cracking. 

Louisiana is expected to gain over 30,000 jobs over the next 12 months as the state with the Lafayette region as one predicted for the fastest job gains in the state, one economist predicted.

The state gained 56,000 net new jobs over the past five quarters, the highest pace of growth since 2007, and 9,000 net new jobs in the third quarter, according to data compiled by Gary Wagner, Acadiana Business Economist with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, in his quarterly Louisiana Economic Activity Forecast.
