Another approach: Louisiana voters recently shot down Gov. Jeff Landry's overhaul of the state's tax code, so he and his legislative allies are breaking the plan up into smaller pieces that may be more palatable. Tyler Bridges has the details.
Scary scene: The Walmart on Tchoupitoulas Street was the scene of a terrifying outburst of violence Friday morning when a man who appeared to be overdosing was saved by an NOPD officer, only to drag the officer in his car as he ran over a bystander. Poet Wolfe and Marco Cartolano have the story.
