Sean Liam Maxwell, the first baby born at the Woden Valley Hospital, possibly had already had more visitors in his short life than most people received during a long stay in hospital, reported The Canberra Times on this day 47 years ago. Sean was also a surprise for his parents. The name, Sean Liam, is the Irish equivalent of John William. "We were expecting a girl and were undecided on a boy's name," said Mrs Maxwell.
